University of Piraeus – Business Administration Department
The Department of Business Administration offers its students a high quality programme of studies which will enable them to staff and manage enterprises and organisations in the private and public sectors both in Greece and abroad. In order to attain this goal the Department places special importance in providing its students with knowledge of the existing theories and practices of management as well as with the modern methods of research and analysis which will offer them the means to cope efficiently with the various and complex management problems that contemporary businesses and other institutions face. The programme of studies includes courses in the fields of Accounting and Finance, Marketing, Production and Technology Management, Strategy, Environmental Management, etc. In view of the dynamic development of the Greek economy and the continuous technological change, the Department aims to maintain sufficient flexibility in creating efficient future business executives
Dokuz Eylül University was founded in July 20, 1982. Seventeen previously founded institutions of Ege University and other various higher education institutes were affiliated to the University in the same year. The number of its academic units reached 41 by 1992. Presently DEU owns 11 faculties, 5 schools, 5 vocational schools, 6 graduate schools, 10 institutes, 35 research and application centers and 3.046 academic staff (2009). The current enrolment is approximately 49.000 students (2009). The Faculty of Business is one of the leading Faculties of Dokuz Eylul University. It was founded in 1992 and supported innovative research-oriented academic education on universal standards. The Faculty of Business has five departments: Department of Business Administration; Department of Economics; Department of International Relations; Department of Tourism Management; Department of International Business and Trade. In addition to the undergraduate programs, the Faculty of Business also offers graduate programs (MBA, PhD) and it has more than 30 active international agreements with prestigious foreign schools. The Department of Tourism Management of Dokuz Eylül University provides students with diversified theoretical and practical information necessary for success in the repetitive tourism industry.
Council of Europe
The Council of Europe, based in Strasbourg (France), now covers virtually the entire European continent, with its 47 member countries. The Council of Europe aims to develop throughout Europe common and democratic principles based on the European Convention on Human Rights and other reference texts on the protection of individuals. The deliberative body of the Council of Europe is Parliamentary Assembly, composed of 318 representatives (and the same number of substitutes) appointed by the 47 member states’ national parliaments. The Council of Europe has made it a priority to promote intercultural and inter-religious dialogue in order to ensure a better understanding between cultures, social cohesion and stability.
University of Piraeus MBA Tourism Society
The University of Piraeus MBA Tourism Society’s mission is to promote Tourism Studies and Employment for graduate students pursuing careers in the business aspects of Tourism and Leisure. The Society's goals are to provide formal and informal learning opportunities in Tourism management, initiate and maintain a strong network of contacts and provide career opportunities for association members. MBA Tourism Society hosts activities which unite industry professionals and students, and provides participants the opportunity to challenge one another and learn from networking within its events.
Izmir Chamber of Commerce
Izmir Chamber of Commerce has functioned as Izmir's Chamber of Commerce and Industry since 1951. Since the entrance of a new law into effect in that year, it has been functioning as Izmir Chamber of Commerce. With its Pre-Republic history and more than 70.000 members and about 200-personnel Izmir Chamber of Commerce is the second biggest and most institutionalized chamber in Turkey.
OpenTourism.gr is an open network of people who love Tourism and work for it. It aims to be the single point of reference and open dialog for Tourism and related areas of Leisure.Apart of discussions and business ideas, it aims to be the leader of change of attitude relating to Tourism as a Sector and field of study.Finally, it aims to contribuce in the diffusion of Knowlendge and Innovation in Tourism in Greece.
Turizm Aktüel is one of the leading publications on the tourism issues in Turkey. Publishing since 1996, Turizm Aktüel joins five international tourism exhibitions around the world ever year. Moreover, “Turizm Aktüel” launched a new web site called www.turizmaktuel.com in 2004, providing daily news from the tourism sector.
